Franck Montagny Helps Scott Tucker’s Level 5 Motorsports to Monterey Win

Madison, WI (PRWEB) May 18, 2012

Scott Tucker’s Level 5 Motorsports team recently announced the arrival of new driver Franck Montagny. The experienced Frenchman made an immediate impact by playing a crucial role in Level 5′s stunning P2 class win at Monterey last weekend. The 3rd round of the 2012 American Le Mans Series was held at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and the Level 5 #95 HPD-ARX-03b car finished in second place overall.

Alongside co-drivers Scott Tucker and Luis Diaz, Montagny’s impressive driving in the last part of the race helped secure the P2 class win for the Level 5 Motorsports team. When Montagny took over driving duties for the final section of the race he posted the fastest P2 lap time of the race. Montagny fended off a strong challenge from their P2 class rival Conquest Endurance to seal the win.

In a thrilling climax to the race Montagny was pushed all the way by Conquest Endurance’s Brazilian driver Ant?nio Pizzonia. Both Montagny and Pizzonia are former Formula One drivers and renewed a friendly rivalry that stretches back almost 10 years. Montagny is no stranger to success at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. When he made his debut there in 2008 he scored a victory in the LMP2 class alongside Brazilian Tony Kanaan. The pair drove their Acura ARX-01b to victory for the Andretti Green Racing team.????

Teen drivers are at the highest risk for preventable accidents. This promising new technology, designed to encourage safe driving habits among teens while giving parents peace of mind, is now available nationwide. To celebrate, iTrack365, makers of iTeen365, is offering 20% off the one-time activation fee.

iTeen365s innovative technology allows parents all across the country to act as virtual driving coaches and monitor how well their teen is driving and obeying the traffic laws, said Joe McBreen, CEO of iTrack365. Weve sought out the best, most reputable installers throughout the country and have educated them on installing the device accurately. Our goal is to get teens home safely, and we want to make the process as convenient and easy as possible for our parents.

South Carolina Roads Getting Worse for Motorcyclists, Charleston Accident Lawyer Says

North Charleston, SC (PRWEB) January 13, 2012

South Carolinas overall traffic deaths increased last year for the first time since 2007 and motorcycle accidents were one of the main reasons, according to Charleston accident lawyer Ken Harrell.

Although wrecks are killing fewer drivers and passengers in other motor vehicles, South Carolina motorcycle deaths continued to rise by a double-digit percentage in 2011, according to preliminary figures from the S.C. Department of Public Safety (SCDPS).

These sad statistics underscore the threat that motorcyclists face on our states roads, said Harrell, who represents victims of motorcycle accidents at the Joye Law Firm, where he is the South Carolina personal injury firms managing partner.

The early data from the SCDPS showed that 102 motorcyclists died in South Carolina traffic accidents during 2011, as compared to 82 the year before. The SCDPS reports that 815 people died in all South Carolina traffic accidents during 2011, up from 810 in 2010.

More motorcycle and pedestrian deaths are behind the increase in the fatality count, according to an Associated Press report in the Charleston Post and Courier. Deaths in other motor vehicles, such as cars, pickups, SUVs and trucks, continued their downward trend in 2011. They declined from 591 in 2010 to 559 last year, the AP reports.

While it is encouraging to see that fewer people are getting killed while traveling in other motor vehicles, it is very alarming to realize that the roads are getting more dangerous for motorcyclists, Harrell said.

Due to the fact that motorcycles lack the structural protection that other vehicles offer, motorcyclists are more likely to suffer severe injury or death in a wreck, Harrell said.

Harrell said one of the leading causes of South Carolina motorcycle accidents is the carelessness of other drivers. Motorists often fail to use sufficient time and caution to see motorcyclists and share the road with them, Harrell said.

Insurance companies like to portray motorcycle riders as rebels who take chances and operate their vehicles dangerously. That image is wrong, Harrell said.

My experience representing victims of South Carolina motorcycle accidents has taught me that most riders are safe and cautious, and it is often the car or truck driver who was to blame for the accident.

Harrell said that some of the most common causes of South Carolina motorcycle accidents include:

????Other vehicles making left turns into the path of an oncoming motorcyclist;
????Other motorists not checking their blind spots for motorcycles; and
????Vehicles pulling out from side streets or driveways in front of an oncoming motorcycle.

When these tragic events occur, it is crucial for victims of motorcycle accidents, or their families, to seek competent legal representation from an experienced South Carolina motorcycle accident attorney, Harrell said.

Too often, motorcyclists who have been injured in a wreck are once again victimized by insurance companies that try to blame them for the accident, Harrell said. Our motorcycle accident attorneys fight for the rights of riders, making sure they get the compensation they deserve for their injuries.

BMW 5 Series AC Schnitzer ACS5 2.0d M Sport M5 2012 Review Test Drive On GTA IV Car Mod.wmv

The BMW 5 Series is a mid-size / executive car manufactured by BMW since 1972. The car, now in its sixth generation, is sold in sedan and touring body styles. It is BMW’s second best-selling model after the 3-Series but represents about 50% of the company’s profits.[5] On January 29, 2008, the 5 millionth 5 Series was manufactured, a 530d Saloon in Carbon Black Metallic.[6] The 5 Series got its name by being the fifth of the “new series” cars after the V-8 and Isetta era. The preceding models were the 700, the “New Class”, the “New Six” 2500/2800/Bavaria and the CS. The 5 Series was intended to replace the older New Six sedans. The first generation’s body was styled by Marcello Gandini, based on the Bertone 1970 BMW Garmisch 2002ti Geneva show car. Gandini also did the Fiat 132 and Alfa Romeo Alfetta, two other cars that have a similar design. There have been six generations of the 5 Series to date. To differentiate between them, they are referred to by their unique chassis numbers (EXX or FXX). The 5 Series began the BMW tradition of being named with a three-digit number. The first digit (5 in this case) represents the model, and the following two digits (usually) represent the size of the engine in decilitres, which is the main distinguishing difference. Additional letters or words may be added to the end of the three-digit number to define the fuel type (petrol or diesel), engine or transmission details, and the body style. The ‘i’ originally stood for (fuel

Flash floods – advice from the IAM, road safety charity

(PRWEB UK) 26 April 2012

Road safety charity the IAM is offering motorists advice on driving in heavy rain, following Met Office warnings of torrential rain over the coming days.

IAM chief examiner Peter Rodger said: “A suddenly very wet road surface increases the chances of slipping when braking or steering, which is a problem not just for motorists, but cyclists and motorcyclists too.

When driving in wet conditions remember that stopping distances will increase, and visibility will be reduced. Drop your speed and give yourself more time to slow down.

In cases of severe flooding, you should reconsider making the journey at all. If it is unavoidable, and you have to drive through deep water, the IAM recommends drivers take the following precautions:

Drive on the highest section of the road and don’t set off if a vehicle is approaching you
Leave time and space to avoid swamping other cars and pedestrians
Drive slowly and keep going once you have started make sure you have a clear run. In a manual car, keep the revs high by “slipping the clutch” (which means the clutch is not fully engaged) all the time you are in the water
If you cant see where you are going to come out of the water, such as when approaching flooding on a bend, think twice about starting to drive into it
In deep water never take your foot off the accelerator, as this could allow water to travel up the exhaust pipe
Once you’re out of the water, dry the brakes before you need them. The best way is to lightly apply the brake as you drive along for a few seconds, after checking nothing is following you too closely.
